Xbox Slim 4GB Hard Drive upgrade
This may help those of you who are annoyed that Reach requires a hard drive.

i don't even think you can buy a hdd for $20
if i wanted to play ata mates should i do this, just take my harddrive out? is it safe to transport it like this, or should i put it all on an external harddrive?
320GB is really 4 GB, 250GB is around 2 - 3 GB
I haven't had a problem with it so far. Granted, my slim doesn't run very hot and I don't have many games that run off the hard drive, but this setup hasn't caused any catastrophic failure so far.
Is it safe to leave all that 'sponge' and plastic inside the console? I know that you did it just to give stabilty to the harddrive and to make it easier to pull it out... but since the console heats a bit, therefore my question... ;) (sorry the bad english :P lol)
I pulled this off with an older XBox 360 120gb. Amazon had an enclosure which I purchased and now it's an even cleaner install. Enclosure was $5. HDD was on sale for $17, regularly $49.
Busted open my old 120gb hdd cause i didn't have any super tiny torx to open the shell, but had the right size for the metal casing and got it in. Evaded microsoft trying to make me pay for an overpirced hard drive!! Thanks :D
Is 20gigs enough? I only have 20 dollars at the moment and I figure a 20 gig hd is better than 4.

So I just pop it in the system like you did then format it from the system dashboard correct and it will notice and take all 200gb of it theres not limit? @smartboy158 u don't need a transfer cable if u buy the 250 gb hard drive just put it in and configure it there u r u can also transfer the data on the 4gb to the hard drive
Haha! well i have a question. I bouguht a 4gb xbox 360 cause im stupid -.-. And i wanna upgrade it to 250 Gb. So i found a 250 Gb hardrive for the Slim. The question is, do i need a data transfer cable ? Or once i put it in it,ll just absorb all of the memory thats Inside the 4gb xbox. Please help?
